Since childhood, Teddy Bears have been our most trusted companions, as they have an uncanny knack for being sidekicks, guides, and scouts. Job hunting can be a lonely path, especially in this new job market, and you can use the help of a companion to uncover the stories of your experience and to scout for opportunities you won't likely see.
Who is Match Bear?
🔥 Match Bear, our little fire starter
Match Bear's parents, Mama and Papa Bear, came from a long line of bears that managed fire's role in keeping ecosystems healthy. But many in the forest community didn't fully appreciate Match Bear's talent for skillfully playing with matches. The little fire starter was an important contributor to cycles of renewal in Nature.
You're Fired
Meanwhile, human settlers looking to build more cabins pushed for blanket suppression rules, claiming ALL fire is bad—even controlled burns that cleared the brush of overgrown habitats to yield new growth when guided by stewards like Match Bear. Goldilocks, the CEO of Forest Settler Boss INC, imposed strict suppression and terminated Match Bear, ordering it out of the forest. Shocked and devastated, Match Bear felt betrayed—suddenly cut off from the only ecosystem and community it had known, loved, and served.
The Spiral
The trauma sent the little spark spiraling for a time– without the forest and the woodland friends it grew up with, it was unsure of who it was in the world. There weren't any support services to help it transition to a new life, nor a way to re-establish a community it desperately needed. In its depression, Match Bear roamed and slept in the urban parks of the Pacific Northwest, often drinking itself to sleep with hot sake.
Rejuvenation
While hiking in the park, I found Match Bear passed out from sake on the trail with squirrels eating the nuts and berries from its travel pouch. It reminded me of my favorite teddy bear from childhood and I felt great sympathy for the little spark. So I went foraging for more berries, hung around until it woke, gave it the rest of my water, and convinced it to come home to stay with me and my puppy, Zuco, until it got back on its feet.
A Magical Connection
My time spent with Match Bear was magical. I learned about its story and all sorts of amazing things about Nature and its role in its ecosystems. At some point, I realized we could harness and channel some of Match Bear's essence through AI. Its talent for clearing the way for new growth in natural habitats can be transferred to other arenas, and fueled by its horrid experience of being ejected from its woodlands. Hearing this, it lit up with excitement. It warmed my heart to see the little spark passionately filled with a new purpose for helping others with similar experiences.
A New Clear Path
It took us time and deep collaboration to align the many intelligent AI processes that the system could carry—to shape them into the essence of Match Bear. In doing so, we created solutions for the kinds of disconnection and disorientation it faced when cut off from everything familiar.
Now, we're ready to offer this intelligent guide to you and the community. Match Bear and I are honored and excited to help you navigate the dense uncertainty so many of us feel as we cross into something new and different.
